Hackers was developed with an emphasis on maintaining a peaceful and straightforward experience, allowing players to concentrate on their game. Respecting the longstanding courtesies of golf, the app is designed with etiquette in mind. Acknowledging that the golf course can serve as a refuge for relaxation and disconnection from daily distractions, Hackers intends for users to engage with the app briefly—under 10 seconds per hole—to maximize quality time spent with companions.

How the app works:

• SIMPLE SETUP - Users can quickly create their round, selecting from the front 9, back 9, or full 18 holes, along with identifying their starting hole for shotgun starts.
• PLAYER COLORS - Participants can input names and select distinctive colors to represent each player within the app.
• SIDE GAMES - Choose from various side games to play throughout the round. Multiple side games can be played simultaneously, offering flexibility and variety.
• LEADERBOARD - Users enter stroke scores on the Leaderboard, keeping track of both gross and net scores if handicaps are utilized.
• LIVE SCORING - Custom Party Codes enable other players to join in live scoring and receive real-time updates.
• SPECTATE - In cases of multiple groups playing simultaneously, users can monitor other rounds and see hole-by-hole results.

How the app doesn't work:

The scoring system in Hackers utilizes a net par scoring framework, simplifying calculations by avoiding complications of traditional scoring. For example, understanding that a birdie equates to -1 and a bogey to +1 minimizes cognitive load during play. This streamlined approach allows for easy tallying upon completing the round by simply adding course par to the total scores.

The app does not track courses played, provide yardages or distance to greens, nor incorporate GPS functionalities—options that abound among existing applications and devices in the market. This approach ensures that Hackers focuses on enhancing gameplay without unnecessary overhead.
